If you want a cheap reception, you need to be open to different types of venues. Hotels are likely to be the highest priced venues for wedding receptions at any time of the year. If you do not plan to serve alcohol, you may be able to save money by booking your reception in your church's social hall. Not only is it likely to save you money but you will also save the cost of driving from the church to the venue. Fire halls, union halls and private clubs are other venues that may be less expensive than a hotel. Do look into the restrictions at each of these facilities. Open bar will be more expensive than cash bar and is a very common practice at wedding receptions especially when there are under age guests as well as adults. These tips will save you money.
